Where Sawbox is built

Sawbox cabinets are U.S.A. manufactured in a dedicated CNC shop in either Kent, WA. or Kenai, AK. using modern nesting equipment and calibrated edge-banding. Every job is cut to order; we do not pull from generic stock sizes.

Our process is set up for short-run, project-based work: kitchens, baths, closets, and built-ins that need precise sizing and repeatable quality.

Note: If you work with a builder or designer, we’re happy to coordinate drawings and pickup/delivery logistics directly with their team.

Cabinet Construction

Typical cabinet box constructions we offer include:

  • All parts are 11/16” cabinet grade, birch veneer plywood, including the backs. 100lb heavy duty, soft-close concealed drawer glides. High quality soft-close hinges. Real cabinet grade screws (not cam-locks)
  • 100+ Choices – Select from 100+ finishes and materials
  • Birch Veneer Plywood – Multi-ply or combi-core options with clear / pre-finished interiors.
  • Melamine – Durable, easy-to-clean white or textured interiors for value-driven projects.
  • MDF – Ideal for painted components and specialty panels where a smooth face is critical.
  • Bamboo / engineered veneer – Modern, linear grain looks for feature runs and full rooms.

Customize: Material mix can be tuned per project (for example: melamine interiors with veneer end panels and plywood sink bases).

Door style catalog

We can cut or source a range of door and drawer front styles, including:

  • Slab fronts – Clean, contemporary look in paint, laminate, or wood veneer.
  • Shaker – 1-piece or 5-piece options depending on finish and budget.
  • Flat panel with reveals – Tight, modern lines for full-height doors and tall runs.
  • Custom fronts – Client-supplied or specialty fronts can be sized to fit Sawbox boxes.

Mix & match: It’s common to combine slab drawer fronts with Shaker doors, or wood lowers with painted uppers for contrast.

Hinge & hardware brands

Our cabinets are drilled to accept standard European-style concealed hinges from major brands:

Richelieu Hardware Self-Closing Soft Close Generic Euro hinges

Specify your preferred hardware package (soft-close, opening angle, integrated dampers, etc.) and we’ll match our boring patterns to it or provide a recommended spec for your project.

Typical lead times

Lead time depends on project size, material selection, and current shop load, but a typical range looks like:

  • Shop drawings / layout refinement: usually a few business days once measurements are confirmed.
  • Cut-to-ship: approximately 3–6 weeks from final approval for most standard projects.

Plan ahead: If you have a hard install date or are coordinating with countertop templating, let us know up front so we can schedule production accordingly.

RTA connection systems

Sawbox cabinets are designed as ready-to-assemble (RTA) boxes that go together with common shop or jobsite tools.

  • Provided #2 Phillips screws – Strong, serviceable screw joints for lifelong connections.
  • Drawer Slides and Hinges – Pre-drilled & ready for easy assembly

Installer preference: If you or your installer has a preferred assembly method, we can often tune the machining pattern to suit.

Finish chemistry options

Projects can be supplied as raw, ready-for-finish components, or coordinated with finishing systems such as:

  • 2K polyurethane – Durable, high-build coatings appropriate for kitchen and bath use.
  • UV-cured acrylic systems – Factory-applied coatings on some panel products and doors.
  • Thermofoil / laminate fronts – For ultra-consistent color and profile durability.

Local finishing: Many clients choose to have doors and panels finished by local finish shops or painters; Sawbox can supply components ready for that workflow.

Working with your finisher

If you have a specific paint line, stain system, or sheen target, share that with us during layout. We’ll help ensure the substrate and panel choices support the finish schedule you or your finisher prefers.

Pickup policy

Sawbox projects are typically numbered to match your kitchen plans.

  • Staging labels – Boxes and parts are labeled to simplify sorting on site.

Receiving: Please inspect parts on pickup and note any visible damage on the paperwork before signing.

Returns & concealed damage terms

Because each Sawbox project is made to order, returns for change-of-mind are generally not accepted. However, we stand behind the fit and function of the parts we cut.

  • Concealed damage or missing parts: Report issues within a reasonable time after unpacking so we can recut or replace affected components.
  • Manufacturing defects: If a part was machined incorrectly relative to approved drawings, we will correct it at no additional cost.

Documentation helps: Photos of the damaged pieces make it easier for us to fast-track replacements.
